In a year shaped by uncertainty and anticipation ahead of major global events, the International Campaign for Tibet made deliberate and strategic choices to safeguard its independence and impact. 2024 was a year of consolidation and renewed focus, as we invested in stronger outreach, deeper supporter engagement, and expanded communications. With the steadfast support of our donors, we remained agile and committed to amplifying the voice of the Tibetan people.
The year 2023 was marked by numerous activities that have led to greater understanding of Tibet in Europe. Like all other NGOs in the Netherlands, we have felt the aftermath of the COVID crisis. In close consultation with the board, the management laid the foundation in 2023 for a turnaround in the coming years.
In 2022, ICT Europe underwent significant developments, both organizationally and personally. In July 2022, the board and staff held a two-day meeting during which we drafted the “Leiden Document.” In this document, we established three key agreements: first, the transition to a more modern and professional organization; second, responding to the changing political situation in Europe; and third, emphasizing unity as “One ICT.”
